Centrifuge Tubes for Laboratory Centrifugation

Accumax manufactures conical centrifuge tubes in 15 ml, 50 ml, 250 ml and 500 ml formats for sample separation, cell harvesting and bioprocessing applications. All formats are produced from US FDA approved virgin polypropylene in a Class 100K clean room using fully automated, human-touch-free manufacturing.

Manufacturing and Material Specification

Tubes are moulded from US FDA-approved virgin polypropylene resin, which provides broad chemical resistance across the pH range encountered in routine sample handling and storage. Swiss-made diamond-finish moulds produce a smooth internal surface, reducing sample adhesion and residual volume.

Every batch is tested by a GLP-certified laboratory and released as free of DNase, RNase, endotoxin, pyrogen, human DNA, ATP and trace metals. Tubes are non-cytotoxic, biologically inert, BPA-free and TSE/BSE compliant.

Sterile variants are irradiated at Accumax’s in-house gamma sterilisation facility. The 250 ml and 500 ml formats are supplied at a sterility assurance level of 10⁻⁶.

15 ml Centrifuge Tube

Conical-bottom tube for routine sample processing, molecular biology and cell culture. Rated to 17,000 × g and compatible with standard fixed-angle and swing-out rotors. Available in bulk, rack and individually wrapped packing, in sterile and non-sterile, amber and heavy-metal-free variants.

50 ml Centrifuge Tube

Conical-bottom tube rated to 20,000 × g for larger sample volumes. Available in standard conical and self-standing configurations; the self-standing format holds position on the bench without a rack during aliquoting. Supplied in bulk, rack and individually wrapped packing, sterile and non-sterile, with amber and heavy-metal-free variants.

250 ml and 500 ml Conical Centrifuge Tubes

Large-volume conical tubes for separation and harvesting of cells, supernatants, bacteria, yeast and tissue samples. Rated to 7,000 × g with a seal-structured conical base designed to raise the centrifugal limit at this volume. Engraved graduations for visual volume identification. Supplied sterile at SAL 10⁻⁶. Recommended working volume is 80% of nominal capacity.

Variants

Amber tubes — for light-sensitive reagents and samples requiring protection from photodegradation during processing and storage. Available in 15 ml and 50 ml.

Heavy-metal-free tubes — for trace metal analysis, ICP-MS workflows and any application where leachable metal content would interfere with the assay. Available in 15 ml and 50 ml, sterile and non-sterile.

Self-standing 50 ml — flat-base format that stands without a rack.

Packing options — bulk, rack and individually wrapped. Individually wrapped sterile tubes are specified where the sterile barrier must remain intact until point of use.

What centrifugal force can these tubes withstand?

The 15 ml tube is rated to 17,000 × g and the 50 ml tube to 20,000 × g. The 250 ml and 500 ml conical tubes are rated to 7,000 × g. All formats are compatible with standard and high-capacity centrifuge rotors.

Are Accumax centrifuge tubes sterile?

Both sterile and non-sterile versions are available. Sterile tubes are gamma irradiated at Accumax’s in-house sterilisation facility; the 250 ml and 500 ml formats are supplied at a sterility assurance level of 10⁻⁶. Individually wrapped sterile options are available where the sterile barrier must be maintained until point of use.
